Week 2 has given me the idea of utilizing blogs as an important e-learning tool for reflection. I believe reflection is an essential aspect in the learning process. A blog allows the student to contemplate the information presented, and consider how the information can be important to their lives or careers, now or in the future.
Blogs are also a good tool so that students can collect and archive information specific to their needs. By blogging, classmates can add opinions, answers, and commentary that is useful in creating a form of classroom discussion; also essential in the learning process. I do wonder if having a blog eliminates the need for a discussion board? They seem to be one in the same, and the purpose of student interaction could be addressed in one or the other without overwhelming the students in having to post to two different forums.
